Established in 2013 by Eric Gulbrandson (Head Instructor and Owner), GHAPPO or Get Home Alive Personal Protection Operative is a trusted provider of practical knowledge and skills that will help you get home alive in various violent and/or dangerous situations.
GHAPPO is the culmination of Eric Gulbrandson’s twenty plus years as a martial arts instructor and practitioner. Having studied in various arts ranging from Kung Fu, Judo, Aikido, and Mixed Martial Arts, his primary background lies in Pa Kua & Hsing I. He has also had various occasions to utilize his skills both while employed as private and personal security as well as in tournaments and in the streets. He claims that typically the most dangerous scenarios occur outside the ring or the cage.
“When you compete in martial arts tournaments, there are rules governing the SPORT which are designed to protect fighters from grievous bodily injury or death. Outside the ring however, there are no rules. This makes real street fighting, even if it may sometimes begin as a fairly harmless ego boosting contest between the two toughest guys or girls, potentially very dangerous and even life-threatening.”
GHAPPO classes are specifically designed around the idea that you’re faced with an adversary who doesn’t value life the way that you do and that he/she is willing to do whatever necessary to take from you what you are not willing to give. GHAPPO students are taught the skills, and mindset to not only survive but to be victorious. Once the student discovers specifically where his/her line is that he/she cannot allow to be crossed, GHAPPO begins!”
GHAPPO focuses on only the most important and practical skills for survival in the most serious of situations and students learn these tactics in a 1 day seminar. They can then master these techniques by practicing them on their own or in further classes taught at GHAPPO. There are an assortment of followup courses to choose from including empty hand, firearm, knife, disaster preparedness and travel specific scenario training.
